Training Modules for Administrators and Faculty PDF Print E-mail


The ADVANCEing Faculty Program offers training modules for faculty and administrators in a variety of venues, from brown bag lunch seminars to workshops to retreats.  Topics include:

  • enhancing department climate,
  • leadership development,
  • departmental governance,
  • faculty recruitment and hiring,
  • managing a research laboratory,
  • worklife balance,
  • gender issues,
  • negotiation,
  • public speaking,
  • social networks, and
  • self-promotion.


Our schedule for 2010-11 includes the following:
IDEAS break on Tuesday, September 28-12:00-1:00pm (Bogard Hall, Room 301)- Gender Differences in the Work Place- Causes, Costs and Consequences

Three faculty members from North Dakota State University - Dr. Chad Ulven, Dr. Sean Wagstaff and Dr. Thomas Carlson delivered a workshop aimed at male faculty who are interested in being Advocates and Allies for gender equity in STEM fields. We were pleased to be selected as one of the campuses for dissemination of their highly successful program.
